How it all started
You’ve seen all the stuffed Mavis dogs, the backpacks, the care packages, the tutus and joy jumps, but you’re probably wondering how it all began. In 2011, Joy in the Cause founder, Lisa Bain, and her mom found out some life changing news while visiting the doctor. They were informed that her mom- her very best friend, had stage 4 ovarian cancer. On the same day, Lisa also learned of her own autoimmune diagnosis. Together, they decided to take this journey head on and find joy in every possible moment.
Joy in the Cause has grown over the years to serve thousands of individuals annually! We connect volunteers directly to our programs in service of those in need. We want our volunteers, donors, staff, and those we serve to feel joy and purpose in connecting with Joy in the Cause. Your cause matters!
Our main programs include Joy to the Rescue providing backpacks for kids in crisis as well as Care Packages for those battling cancer and other life-altering illnesses. We work to bring comfort, compassion, and joy to the community through our programs at Joy in the Cause. Please reach out to get involved today!
